Meet the Two Jacks Behind Our Wine

With our own kids all grown up, we thought life on the farm might become a little quieter. Then along came Digger John and Miss Daisy — our two Jack Russells — and let’s just say, quiet isn’t exactly a word we would use anymore!

These two are our fur kids, our constant companions and very busy little bees. They absolutely love farm life and have quickly made themselves at home at Newlands Estate. Between exploring, chasing each other around, keeping an eye on what we’re doing and generally getting into mischief, they certainly keep us entertained.

And, of course, they are the inspiration behind the name of our wine range — 2 Jacks.

Digger John is our 6-year-old Parson Jack Russell with a very big heart.

He absolutely adores his little sister, Miss Daisy, and the two of them can spend hours playing together. When they aren't tearing around the property, Digger is happiest when it’s time for a walk or, naturally, when there’s food involved.

He has definitely embraced farm life and seems to think that everything happening around the vineyard is his business.

Miss Daisy is our almost 2-year-old little girl, and she is always ready for a cuddle.

She is very much a Daddy’s girl and is rarely too far away from her dad. Wherever Derek is, there’s a pretty good chance Daisy isn't far behind.

She has a playful personality and, like any good Jack Russell, plenty of energy. She and Digger are the perfect little team and provide us with endless entertainment.

So when you see a bottle of 2 Jacks, you’ll know there are two very special little characters behind the name.
